Important Information Regarding COVID-19

In recognition of ongoing news reports and the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus, we realize you may have questions. As dedicated health care professionals, we want you to know that we remain as diligent as ever in protecting the health and safety of our patients and staff. Our practice strictly adheres to and exceeds the standards for infection control by wearing Personal Protective Equipment, using hospital-grade disinfectants, practicing the latest sterilization protocols, utilizing single-use disposable materials, and more.

We have installed three iWave-R Residential Air Cleaners in the three air handling units in our office.  You can read more about them here.  The air in our office is completely cleaned every few minutes.

Beyond those procedures, we use rubber dams and/or isolite suction devices for both hygiene and dental procedures.  Both of these devices greatly reduce aerosolization of saliva.

After each patient encounter besides exams, in addition to our normal Personal Protective Equipment, we will be wearing booties, head coverings and face shields.  We have created a special sealed room in which we remove our PPE.  In a clean area, we put on new, clean PPE.

The Ketchikan EOC has allocated to us a limited number of rapid test kits.  If you require a procedure which causes aerosols, we will have you come several hours early to the parking lot at 1621 Tongass Ave for a throat swab.  Then, you will drive the collection kit to Peace Health Medical Center lab, register and give them the sample.  Results are faxed to us within 30-90 minutes.

We thank you in advance and extend our gratitude for your understanding and cooperation. Together, we can help keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office, and one of our staff members will be more than happy to assist you.
